Carly has hated Zeke Elliott for the past 11 years, but being the brother of her best friend Cain, he is always around. However, one drunken night that hate turns into something else. Refusing to acknowledge anything happened, Carly tries to continue her life as usual, unfortunately, Zeke is refusing to let that happen. At 27, Zeke has only ever been in one real relationship, and when that crashed and burned he became scarred, - that tends to happen when your fiancé cheats on you 2 weeks before your wedding - but ever since that night with Carly he can't get her out of his head. With conniving brothers and best friends trying to push them together, Zeke has to decide if he is ready to risk his heart again and Carly has to choose whether he is worth it. Just when things are starting to look up, past romances catch up and give the couple a run for their money. I enjoyed this novel, I had not read the first book in the series but it was easy to understand without having read it. It was a quick and easy read too. It had it's humor, with the occasional sex scene, but most of the book was spent having Carly and Zeke try to figure out their problems and what to do when the tension gets a little too hot.

Cliffhanger: None

Overall: 3/5
