Let me start by saying that JEM is one of my favorite authors. I am a huge fan of her "This Man" trilogy, as well as "The Protector". However, I am a little disappointed in this book. It started off strong and hot, but as we learn the main character, Jack's, secret, I got more and more angry with the direction of the novel. This story is about the relationship between Annie and Jack after Annie discovers Jack has been keeping a huge secret from her. As they get thrown into the same space, the passion between them continues to heat up. Without giving any spoilers, the secret was not for me. With that being said, the novel is very well-written and the story is very thought out. Annie is a easy to love character, as well as her crazy group of friends, her choices may just make some people feel angry. The novel has it's funny points and is, of course, dramatic throughout. While I finished the book, I lost my interest after we learned Jack's secret. So, if you don't agree with how Annie handled it, I would not continue reading; it made me a little angry by the time the novel was finished. If you're looking for a good read and a fan of JEM, I would recommend reading one of her other novels.
Cliffhanger: None
Overall: 2.5/5
